In the year 2018, two big wealthiest industries from Greece and London joined hands to start a new venture named MW&L Capital Partners. The people involved behind this new startup are Peter Livonos, a shipping tycoon from Greece and UK’s two ex-goldman Matthew Westerman and Julian Metherell.
The major reason for their tie up was to make a long-term investment from their capital. Therefore, with the MW & L firm, they started offering investments support & financial advisory to the clients, especially to those who are from the same field as these three partners- financial, shipping and energy.
2020 invest in CMi
2021 acquire- Merryck & Co
London-based MW&L Capital Partners pumped £66m into Well-Safe last October and has now reaffirmed its faith in the business by leading the latest substantial cash injection.
“With the continued support of MW&L and existing shareholders, including the direct investment clients of Stonehage Fleming (London-based wealth manager), we’ll be bringing the Well-Safe Guardian and Well-Safe Protector into operation in the spring of 2021 and aim to add further assets to our growing fleet – supporting our campaign-based approach to decommissioning.”
We had enjoyed a close and longstanding advisory relationship with CMi’s late founder, Krister Svensson, assisting him with the development and planning of his exit strategy. Following his sudden passing away in June 2019, we advised his heirs on the sale of the business to MW&L.
MW&L Capital Partners is a private investment vehicle which was co-founded by former senior Goldman Sachs investment bankers Matthew Westerman and Julian Metherell along with Peter Livanos, who is the owner of Ceres Hellenic, a private ship management company.
Soaring demand for executive leadership advice during the pandemic has prompted the purchase of Merryck & Co by a group of prominent financiers, Sky News understands.
